The fitting coming out of the dash is a standard iso fitting used on all cars. Vauxhall have 3 parts: 2 smaller ones for the stereo and the third one is for the display in the dash. You can get a converter to fit the third so the diplay will display radio station or cd your listerning too - but very expensive. The display will still tell time and temperature, (if you have temp) although I`ve never bothered with that and I've always had vauxhall cars/vans.
Regards to memory, red is permanent live; yellow is ignition live.

1 The red and yellow wires need to be swapped around ,the kenwood wired loom should have bullet connectors half way down the loom to do this.
2 The third plug is for the high level display , just put it to the back out of the way,all the display will show is time and date
good luck hope this helps

Sound like you got the memory power and constant power wires mixed up. If you have a red and yellow wire, they should probably be switched. The yellow wire is for the memory and should be hooked up to a constant source from the battery (always on). The red wire should only have power when the key is on.

Check the wiring diagram with the set and it will advise you.

That is if it is a new one, otherwise take it to a car radio installer
