I have always battled that because I am a night person. My body likes to sleep in the day and wake up at night. That is why I am midnight cat, I am usually up late w/my cats, it is 2 am now.. Were you born in the evening? Studies show that most people born at night tend to be night people.
Getting on a sleep schedule is the best thing to fix daytime sleepiness, naps mess me up. An energy drink can help in the morning and then some relaxing caffeine free tea at night can help. Exercise and a cold shower first thing in the morning makes me feel the best, it gets my blood moving and helps me sleep good. I like to exercise in the morning because I am too sleepy to realize how long I have been exercising so before I know it I am awake and alert for the rest of the day.
Exercise is good but do it at least 4 hours before bed time, no caffeine 7 hours before bed.

Start a workout program. Some cardio. Even just a little bit in the morning (some sit ups and push ups) will help. You will find you have more energy by doing a little workout. Even doing this during the day helps wake you up. If you are at work/office, get up and stretch every hour to avoid getting a tired feeling.
Good luck and don't be a 'couch potato'.

well other than the obvious (getting enough sleep) i was very surprised to discover that simply drinking lots of water or real fruit/veg juice gave me a load more energy during the day...plus i quit getting tension headaches that used to come almost every afternoon. dehydration was my biggest problem and i didnt even know it. i switched to a new doctor and she told me to drink at least eight cups of water a day--and it really made a difference! also i think it flushes a lot of toxins outa your system. also cutting down on sugar and starchy carbs will stop your blood sugar and energy levels from swinging up and down.

Walking on the golf course and not sitting or being in doors too much. A can of coke not coffee. Sinus problems cause drowsiness and 90% of people have this problem. The best way to combat it is constant slow motion outdoors.

Try taking a vitamin, I like "ALLBEE with C" or "Z-BEC", it's a "B" complex vitamin (vitamin B is really the one you need the most of, and use) they tend to give a little kick (Turbo boost) to your day. A nice cup of "Espresso" can get you going as well (Caffine).
