A "secured" credit card works great for this....

It basically means you give the bank $1000 they then give you a credit card with a $1000 limit... you go shopping, and pay the credit card bill when it comes monthly like normal credit cards... The $1000 sits in the bank and does not get touched, that's where the title "secured" comes in.

(Do not do business with captial one or any bank associated with them) but thats a whole different story!!! TRUST ME !!

In a few months you have credit built up and you can ask for a higher line of credit. Aaaaaaaaaaah the credit cycle has now begun.... Good Luck and pay off your credit card debt EVERY month and life will be good !

That is an easy question to answer... without hurting or potentially hurting your credit, apply for a "Poor Credit Credit Card". The Reason: You don't have credit, its not that you have poor credit, so applying for one of these cards guarantee's you acceptance.

A good "First Credit Card" is A Platinum Mastercard: Platinum does not mean what you think... http://www.affiliatetier.com/credit_cards.php?review=1165&page=3 - Small Annual Fee - 8.9% APR (Variable) - great purch to the card... annual fee is extremely low compared to most credit cards.

Go to your local Macy's Department store, if you have no credit, you have good chances of getting a card, your credit line might only be $100, but its a great starter, it will help you alot in the future. also, don't go applying for credit left and right, this will hurt your chances of getting a card, banks dont like seeing that you apply at alot of places. also, try Chase bank,
they have alot of choices.

they start you out at $300, but again, its a great starter..
if your not getting approved there, and you livein Washington state, Oregon, Parts of California or Idaho, Go to you local Harry Ritchies Jewelry store, they can get you financing no matter what, and this will build you credit, they report every month and thier payments are cheap in most cases.
hope i helped, sorry if not.
good luck.

Have your parents or a trusted friend add you as an authrized user on their credit card. Make sure they are in good standings though, as good and bad history on that account can affect you.

dont buy stuff you can pay for. if youre going to get a credit card, make sure you dont go over on your spending limit. that earns you some credit points.

Take out a small loan, and pay it back early. Get a store card and pay it off every month.
