s special

vs very special

vsop very superior old pale or very special old pale, either one is acceptable.

xo extra old

xo is the highest grade of cognac (the xo designation was invented by hennesy), and xo cognac should be drunk neat (by itself)
vsop is 2nd best grade, and it can either be drunk by itself, or can be mixed into cognac drinks which the french like to do with vsop and vs grade of cognacs.

It means "very superior old pale" and a good one is Hennessy
VSOP or Remy Martin VSOP. These premium cognac has
been kept 'ripening' for at least 5 to 8 years and it's very
smooth and warm in taste when you drink it neat and best
at room temperature of 20 deg. Celsius.

It means Very Superior Old Pale, and means that your cognac has been kept ripening for - I think- at least 5 years.

If you like the stuff, you must try Remy Martin, that's the best ever, in my view.

The rest are right...Very Superior Old Pale.

My favorite is Remmy Martin. Never buy vs it stands for very shitty. Frankly, I dont think that XO is 3 times better than VSOP as reflected in the price. VSOP is the way to go. Not on the rocks.
