A guy joked about being interested in me twice, and he kept asking me how I look and stuff. When I asked him if he ever joked around with other women in the same way, he said yes and stressed that he was merely joking. I've never joked around with any guy in this way, nor have I heard any other guy joked about being interested in me. I don't know if he was afraid of rejection, so he told me that he had also joked in the same way with other women and that he was merely joking. I mean, would anyone joke about being interested in someone??? That's really werid to me. What do you think? I appreciate it that you will share with me your opinions on this. Thanks a lot.

the answer to this question how ever weid it might be is quite simple.
Now for you to know i am a guy so i have my point of views on this.
First off.
The guy is really intrested in you. Being a boy i don't go around asking all the women in the wold how they look and say i am making fun of it. It just not like that. Now this guy definately wants you. But he is not sure at all what to do? whether to ask you out or not. I think he is kind of shy rather than being actually afraid of rejection.
Most probably he thinks that both of your friendship would take a drastic change with this. So all he needs is a bit of confidence. Maybe you could help him out with that. Give him signs. make sure that he is intrested in you. Ask him what does he like about you. Once you have the initial start i guess there the guy can pick up from.
So this is miy view. and i hope you both become a good match ;-)
