the weight you loose could be less pressure on your spine and make you stand and sit up taller. This will make you seem taller. Men have also been known to not stop growing naturally until about 25 years old, women about 21. You may still be growing anyhow. and sitting/standing up straight makes you seem taller anyhow. and yes loosing the weight can make you seem taller because your body looks longer due to the thinness.

You will look taller because leaner limbs look longer than chubby ones. You will not actually grow! Losing weight will never make you grow, and you are past the typical age when most women hit their last growth spurt. Okay, I just assumed you were a woman, but I guess you could be a guy. Same answer except guys can have a growth spurt up to age 23 usually, but still has nothing to do with losing weight. You should consider reading some books, anything non-fiction will do... this is sorta one of those things you would expect an 21 year old to know.

Losing weight has nothing to do with your bone structure. Its like asking if a tree loses its leaves will the grass grow faster... Its 2 completely different issues of the body. You will look taller though because being skinnier will create a taller illusion. Oh and just btw... why would you want to lose so much weight - you will look too skinny, I personally think 180 can be too little for a 6ft 21 year old - you still have your puppy/baby fat to lose.

If you want to lose it - please do it sensibly.

Ordinarily I would automatically say no, but I just read an article today about a woman who lost a large amount of weight (I think 60 lbs) and she said that she gained an inch in height. I think this makes sense because you are actually taller in the morning, but your spine becomes more compressed from the pressure of carrying your weight throughout the day. So excess weight could compress it too. Also you might drop a shoe size, I did when I lost some weight.

You would 'look' taller because of the skinnier build. But as far as physically gaining height....nope.

You may appear taller if you lose weight. However, if you lose fat while gaining some muscle, you’ll look taller and bigger.

No dear, like a toddler when you loose your baby fat you get taller because you don't look as short, that's all!
