Oh, how awful. We witnessed a brutal attack not long ago and I am still traumatized by it. I hope your kitty is OKAY!? She must be scared out of her wits and is staying well-hidden until she knows it is safe to try to get home. Keep the love lights burning and she should return home very soon. I would keep calling. Sometimes they run into neighbor's garages or basements. We had a cat do that and she went missing for 2 weeks! We put up posters with her picture and the neighbor knew where the cat in her basement came from! God speed your cat!

depending on how long youve had the cat, it prolly accepts you as its "owner" (you must realize that no one owns a cat, there are only situations where a cat accepts to put up with certain human "owners")
a cat will do what ever it wants regardless of "ownership"...
but, if youve had it awhile, then its prolly itching to get back "home"(your house).
it prolly feels a sense of comfort at your house and prolly knows that it can eat daily without fail at your house; so you can bet it wants to come back.
i had a similar dillemma with one of our cats who got out and had nvr been outdoors before...(shes a siamese who's fixed and declawed on her front paws.)
prolly took three days altogether but she knew where her main food source and her main shelter/protective housing was...
we just kinda chilled out and left a lil food and water on our steps outside.
apparently she recognized the smell of the food or something. she finally showed up on our back porch after a few days or so and she just couldnt wait to get back in the house.

Put some food and water out in front of the opening she ran into and try calling her out gently using a soothing voice. she'll come out eventually after she calms down.
