I get very congested in the winter, and also have some mild allergies to my cats. I can't take decongestants b/c of my heart rate, so do you have any ideas of either:
1. Prescription or over the counter medicines that work and are not decongestants
or
2. Any home remedies that work

PS..I do plan on seeing my doctor, but would like some perspective before I go in.

Now I would have gladly suffered through this because my mother gave me this cat the x-mas before she died. Then my doc. tried me on Zyrtec. Let me tell you for a pill i only take once a day it's like a dream come true. See i not only have Lott's of animals but live Right next to the river, so with in the first week of taking this the allergies were gone! Get a gold fish until eventually you fairly need to torture your self. hypersensitive reaction drugs artwork, yet you may finally end up drained each and every of the time and nonetheless your nostril is going to itch and eyes burn. Why could you want to take drugs for years? it may be unfair to a cat to supply it a house and then locate out you could not tolerate the difficulty it motives. Animals take as lots accountability whether a cat or a canines. never think of interior the way of what could be less difficult for you. this would be a super determination, in spite of you desperate on it is going to likely be your destiny for as much as two decades. scince you can't take decongestiants, i suggest that you drink echinacea tea with natural honey. i am alergic to my cat as well but i give her weekly baths and the allergies are gone! use a shampoo especially made for cats such as Hartz Infutions. i use it and it makes my cat smell great and keeps the hairballs and allergies away. hopefully this helps you!

Natural unpasteurized honey is great for allergies, while at the store you can also pick up pollen that has been collected by the bees (it comes in little balls, they will know what you what you mean when u ask for it).

Over the counter - benadryl.
Prescriptions - zyrtec, flonase, allegra. Flonase is a spray for your nose. Zyrtec and allegra are both pills but you only need one. I used to take Zyrtec but now I take allegra.
