I don't work out much. I just do dips every other day. About three sets of 12. Therefore, my strongest body parts are my triceps number one and my pecs, since I slightly lean forward when I do the dips. I know all about how many grams of protein per pound of bodyweight I'm supposed to consume and same with carbohydrates. I have a very fast metabolism. I'm willing to lift, eat, rest, and grow to get to 220, but I think baby steps are in order. Even 15 pounds is a lot. I've read a lot of contradictory advice. Some people say: if you want mass, don't do cardio; others say: if you want lean mass, do cardio once or twice a week. I don't eat fast food. I don't eat unhealthy, just not enough quantity and not often enough. I've tried just about every weight gainer out there. Let's pretend like it's back in the day when there wasn't glutamine, creatine, BCAA's, anabolics, thermogenics, etc. except for maybe some whey protein powders. I can't afford all that stuff anyway. Tell me what to do.

In my personal opinion...and i'm kind of freak about health, you need to do cardio no matter what. Its just healthier and it makes the most important muscle in your body stronger, your heart. I think a mix of cardio and weight lifting maybe 4 or 5 times a week would be good. Try a getting a gym membership somewhere.

i think you need over 3,000 calories day to gain weight especially if you're active. Just make sure you eat at least three nutritious meals a day, and then maybe work up to eating some snacks in between.
Try to eat high calorie dense foods (but still healthy ones)
Oatmeal, eggs, whole milk, cheese, whole grain bread, peanut butter, almond butter, beans, filet mignon, brown rice, whole wheat pasta, olive oil, avacados, granola, odwalla smoothie drniks, there are more things out there you just have to look..
nuts, dried fruit, and trail mix are good for snacks and high calorie
burritos are packed with calories..and are very tasty. Pizza is high calorie as well...the healthy frozen kinds or home made is the best.
Just still be sure to eat healthy...and balanced. even though you're trying to gain weight you need to eat healthy. Whole foods are the best for you as oppose to packaged things with preservatives..you probably already know that...but just making sure.

I woulnd't use the weight gainer potions out there...unless they come from a doctor. many have artificial ingredients and preservetives, ect...

Okay I have your problem, and here is some serious answers that I have researched/been told. First of all, still eat healthy, dont stuff yourself silly, and do excercise.

Eat higher calorie fruits and veggies (bananas, carrots, apples basically any fruit and veggie that is not watery.

protein! Eat lean meat, eat peanutbutter, ask your doctor about taking some protein powder, my doc prescribed me some to take, and it actually doesn't taste to bad.

Eat healthy high calorie foods like nuts, legumes, wheat crackers.

Never be plain. Top your toast with maregines made with healthy fats, peanut butter, jelly. add cheese to your scrambled eggs. This will add calories without filling you up. Cook with healthy olive oil and sprinkle it on your saled, add eggs, crackers and other filling stuff to your salads. fill omelets with cheese and veggies. Order creamy soups.

Swich to whole grains, there healthier and more calorie dense. Eat complex carbohydrates, not loads of sugar.

Eat 3 meals and at least 3 snacks.

here are some healthy high calorie snack ideas.

1. plain full fat yogurt and frozen berries blended together and some peanuts mixed, makes a great dip.

2. Cheesy garlic bread made with whole wheat bread.

3.peanut butter on toast with bananas washed down with full fat milk.

4.whole wheat blueberry muffins, or pancakes

5. Pasta!

6. homemade pizza.

Now, If you wanna gain weight but still be healthy do weight training and resistance excercises. Do crunches, and buy hand and ankle weights, and use them. And jump rope too, or swim.remember muscle ways more than fat!

Back in the day people depended upon DNA, truly.
All I know is that you must consume 3000 calories more than you burn in order to gain one pound. Good luck. I used to have that problem always wanting to gain weight. Now, of course I need to lose.
