don't get a dog if you aren't willing to pay big bucks. you can avoid paying much for once, but how about the future medical bills, treatments, and grooming costs? not forgetting about food. dogs eat dog food, nothing else, or it will have poor health.
if you're so insistant, i suggest you not getting a pure breed. they have poor antibodies and are prone to infections.
