Don't send cash in the mail!

Go to the bank or walmart and buy a money order payable to the court (or whoever it's supposed to be paid to) and pay by mail.

If you go in person and pay cash, GET A RECEIPT and keep it in a safe place. The last thing you want is for them to say you did not pay the fine.

If you go to court you maybe sitting a long time. I would be p*ss*d off because I did not know you could get a ticket for such a thing. I ride my bike on no traffic smooth roads and do not wear one because it feels good to have the wind on me especially when it is hot. I do wear it on busy streets though. I think we should be able to judge what we do on a bike, it is not like it is a motor cycle or car. I grew up not wearing a helmet and find them annoying however my children will wear one because it actually is safer and being young they will probably be more comfortable unlike me. Back in my day noone wore them except children who had epilepsy or mentally challenged. Now things have changed and everyone wears them so it is a good thing.

Well, if you think you're not guilty, go to Court and plead not guilty. Or if that's not accurate or too much trouble, just pay the fine. You can call the Clerk of the Court and ask for a time to appear or if you can pay by mail. The citation should have a point of contact listed somewhere on it.

go to court, tell the judge you want probation, then you won't be fined at all. just a tiny court fee and it won't go on your juvenile record.
