I want a midline priced camera that doesn't eat up batteries every few pics. A good basic, sorta for dummies type but that takes decent pics...without needing to change the batteries constantly. What do you all have? How much was it? Should I get a phone camera combo instead? Are the pics on them good enough? I need brand, model, and price range...please. Grateful to those who respond, thanks.

Panasonic makes excellent cameras in all categories. For what you are looking for, the LZ and FX lines would be perfect. Easy to use, 4-5MP resolution, 3x to 6x zooms, and plenty of pictures. I have the Panasonic LZ2 which is 5MP, 6x zoom, and uses AA batteries. It has been replaced by the LZ3 which is an improved version of the LZ2. Both can be bought for under 200.

Check www.steves-digicams.com for all the info you could ever want on them. The Canon A series are great too although a little more expensive.

The best one i just ordered not long ago is the Casio Exlim Z70.. the price is cheaper than a lot of main brands like (sony, canon, Nikon)

The Camera is good quality and the size is really small so you could carry it every where. My friend got an Casio Exlim Z60 and I thought it is not bad..

Currently the best price i saw is at Circuit City.com

I don't really know what to recommend to you, but don't replace getting a good camera with a camera phone...camera phone pictures are really bad quality.
