According to their sacred scriptures:
"Andhatama pravishanti ye asambhuti mupaste"
"They enter darkness, those who worship the natural elements" (Air, Water, Fire, etc.). "They sink deeper in darkness, those who worship sambhuti."[Yajurveda 40:9]
Sambhuti means created things, for example table, chair, IDOL, etc.

This is the definition that is for the spiritual, material ,world the more you worship the material wealth the deeper you go into darkness, and if you confine your self to the worship of the elements then you are restricting your vision of the almighty, this restriction of vision is also darkness, the true bliss and happiness is much beyond which comes from knowledge, and no my friend Hinduism is not going to the dark this is the religion which has stood the test of time for many centuries unlike the others which perished, like the roman and the Greek religion for example.
Finally Hinduism is not a religion it a way of life and leading ones life to obtain true bliss and happiness

you must know sanskrit well to interpret vedas ,darmasastras and upanishads .They above says how negligible is your knowledge and how biased is your information.
you have selected a 50% phrase ,you need to take in to account the preceeding and following lines of the sloka.you will have the real meaning ,

let me quote some example ' ALL THOSE WHO DONT BELIEVE IN JESUS IS EVIL' lets say you have this in two lines in bible and if i pick
only JESUS is evil in xxx line and say i am quoting it from BIBLE what would be your and also from all those who have answered this question before me.
DONT ACT TOO SMART when quoting things .

HINDUS always lived in light
want some proofs

when the west n Bible followers believed that world is flat ,we were the only ones who believed its sperical.
when BIBLe followers belived that earth was central to solar system ,HINDUS were the only believed that SUN is central to solar system.
When Bible followers believed that there are no other tihngs in the universe except solar system HINDUS believed that there are many galaxies in the universe .
when BIBle said earth is 4000 yrs old we believed it to be billions of years older and the age of earth mentioned in vedas is near accurate figure actually proved scientifically.
WHEN BIBLE followers in west were nomads ,who dont no what clothing and planning is, we had cities and a vast advanced civilization of the world 'SARASWATI SINDHU CIVILIZATION( INDUS VALLEY)' with well planned cities ,we have the oldest universities in the world NALANDA AND TAXILA which are 300 to 600 years older than your JESUS AND BIBLE.

Advanced medicine, mathematics ,chemistry and accounting system are the gifts of Hinduism
So light can drive away dark and not dark drive away light so,when you comment you need to know the truth .
HINduism is the only religion in the world which has given science its place and scientific and not a blind religion like CHRIStianity or ISLAM which are based on crusades and jihads.

so now you answer who lived in darkness all these years BIBLE followers ,Quran followers or HINDUS be true and an impartail judge.

well no because there are so many practices in Hinduism. Up to the bhagavad gita which is the highest spiritual text which not only believes in one God, one Source of all but as the source as Nirankar, or beyond all human characteristics.

So we find in Hinduism a whole spectrum from Idol worship of the grossest kind (or darkest)
to the highest or lightness---not lightest because even light has physical properties, so even beyond that, the Ultimate Reality

hindus are definetely going into the darkness. and not only them every human is bound to go into the oblivion. thats what happened to the dinosaurs, to the mammoths. gimme one reason why humans will be spared. Yes, it took the ice age to wipe out the dinosaurs, but the nature does not have to do another iceage to wipe out humans.Sep11, babri, israel are good reasons that will automatically wipe out hindus, muslims, christians, jews and al others

I noticed you put a little extra emphasis on idol there. What is the point of your question? Just trying to put a different system of beliefs down?
