some days, i might eat a poptart, or some fruit in the morning(most days I skip breakfast) Then I go to school because I am in 7th grade and I don't usually eat lunch because our school serves only meat product meals and I am a vegetarian. I am going to talk to the school about that. So I'm usually not eating until I get home after school(around 3:30). I usually eat a PB &J when I get home and fruit then I don't eat much more all night. i don't eat 3 meals a day like most people do. I eat here and there. Is this bad for me? I think I might eventually have a eating disorder just right now I don't. I just think I am fat and I hate that! My friends say Im not though but I dont know. I weight 100 lbs and Im 5'3". Is that heavy for my age?

No you are not.. and being a vegetarian is a difficult thing..most don't get enough protein.. you aren't getting any. You are on the fast track to obesity.. you will muck up your metabolism.. you need to eat 3 squares a day minimum.. have eggs for breakfast.. if they make you feel queasy, remove the yolks..this way you will get a pure protein breakfast.. your studies will improve..your body cannot do the job for you if you don't give it the fuel it needs.. try a tuna sandwich for lunch and some kind of lentil soup or stew for dinner.. or Start eating MEAT, cause you are seriously messing with your insulin levels.

hi savannah
100 pounds at 63 inches is very thin
whether or not it is healthy depends on other factors
cut out the poptarts they provide no benefit
eat a light breakfast of a good cold cereal and milk and wheat toast and juice for example
take something with you to school to eat whether they like it or not
vegetarianism is great so keep that up
the school should provide you with an alternate to meat main courses
consider a soy protein mix because protein is so important
consider also a multivitamin and calcium supplement to be taken daily
try to eat more so that you get at least 1500 calories per day
eat something even a small amount every three to four hours
smoking has to go that is completely ridiculous
what kind of vegetarian smokes
make sure you exercise to stay healthy
do some kind of moderate aerobic activity for thirty minutes at least three times per week

are you eating enough???
probably not. eating here and there is not so bad. many eat 5 or 6 little snacks.
if you are not gaining or loosing weight I would not worry too much. I would eat a vitamin daily .. and try to eat a more balanced diet .. many sources for vegetarians. and if you cannot bring "lunch" perhaps you can sneek in snacks.
Your weight is a big light for an adult, you certainly are not fat .. but you are in 7th grade so the charts might be a little off. I would not lose more weight unless a doc thinks it is a good idea. I don't think he will. (see chart)

You are not heavy for your age and height. You will probably develop some type of eating disorder if you don't eat more often. Our bodies like it best if we keep our blood sugars from going very high and very low. We do that by eating things that stay with us. Ie whole grains not refined, whole fruit not juice or soda, some form of digestable protien and a good source of iron.
Go to one of the diet sites like "Zone" to figure out your body mass and fat mass (not because you need to loose weight but so you will know what you should weigh). I am 5'2" and I should weigh about 117 pounds, just to give you an idea.

I am also in 7th grade, but we are not talking about grades here.Number 1,you should NEVER skip breakfast and remember that for the rest of your life, yes skipping dinner(evening)is sometimes good as some people might get fat because of eating before they go to sleep. If you are worried about weight then exercise -swimming is great and yoga is good too(you have low self-esteem as I see it,yoga helps with that too). Now,you really have to talk to your school about that food thing I guess,so anyway,I hope I helped.Good luck!(and be carefull with that eating thing you got,ah,yes,it is better to talk to your doctor if you are really worried).

I am vegetarian also, and I find that lentils (red or green) are the legumes which are highest in protein and iron. 100g of red lentils contains around 20g of protein, which is around 30% of what most teenagers/adults need. This is why lentils (along with rice) are the staples of people in South Asia as most of them are vegetarians.
Please eat breakfast, it starts your metabolism and you'll feel better in the morning. And if you can't bring in lunches to school, then have a larger breakfast.

Cut the smoke and eat healthy. you can skip break fast but never your Lunch. It should be taken before 2:00 PM. Why cant you bring your lunch from home if you cant eat your school provided lunch.
your current life style can lead to digestive disorders.

You shouldn't fill your body with a lot of garbage at a young age, stay on the fruit and veggies, Lot's of juices and water, don't like meat, good, what about chicken? Take a vitamin supplement, check you blood pressure, make sure it is not low, could cause dizziness, eat a lot of Broccoli and brussel sprouts, good source of iron, you will need iron in your life!

you need to eat more vegetables. your parent are not lying when they say they are important. and if your going to skip any meal keep it to be lunch because you need to eat a breakfast to get you going in the morning and you need to eat dinner to have a healthy nights sleep
i wouldnt worry about it unless you start to feel sleepy all the time or just like you dont want to do anything
but remember whatever you eat, even if its not alot, make it healthy

I'm sure you already know the answer to this question.
You are well on the road to annorexia. You only have one body. Treat it well and it will work well for you.
Use the food pyramid for a general guide and try to get it all in. Be sure to exercise too. That will keep you from gaining and give you healthy muscles and organs.
