DO NOT!!! I've been there done that and Guess what??? No more Best friend.... We don't even talk now, and we promised each other if we dated and then quit we would still always be best friends.... So if you want to chance losing him as a Best friend date him, if not then ya better not!!

Go for it, but keep in mind the risks that come with it. Dating your best friend could be one of the best relationships you ever have, the only downside is IF there is ever a break up.

Many married people say their spouse is their best friend. I don't know if the friendship came before the marriage or if it was the other way around, but I sure can't think of any reason not to.

I say yes, you should be friends or best friends before dating. Being friends means you have things in common. Good luck!

do it. not dating someone just cuz there your friend is one of the most torturous things you girls can do to us. it could also be a horrible mistake. (not to.) you would usually be seriously missing out on someone who would treat you like a queen.

Not to date. Or you'll have no more best friend.

I'd say not to, because if you break-up, and you want to become friends again, things get all uncomfortable and it seems like you can never be friends again.
