ok, I took the majority advice on sending my MIL an invite to my baby shower. my hubby said she recieved it and that was it. well, come shower time, no show, no call, nothing. she hasn't spoken to me since I've been pregnant and I still never recieved or heard a simple thank you for the mother's day gift I sent her. is it safe to say I can/should drop communication with her without any second thoughts?

i would say YES YES YES.....looks like she can't see past her problem to think about her beautiful granchild so why should you be the one to make all the effort to bring you two closer when she just ignores you....i mean you have a wonderful little baby to think about and it comes down to being her loss....do your own thing and see if she comes round. luck to you either way!

Keep sending her cards and gifts. She may soften her stance. And even if she never does it will make you look pretty good.

Yes, you did your part and she snubbed you. Don't give the bi*** another thought, she is the one missing out.
