I am a parent of 3, and I love all my children equally, but sometimes parents baby the youngest, and give them more attention because they think they require more. They also have learned better parenting skills from raising the older children.
We don't do it intentionally, As a parent think its important to make sure you spend quality time with each child individually, so that bond you have with each child never breaks.

Guilt. The youngest usually do not get much time or attention as the oldest did. And parents do not have the energy they had when they were younger, so they rely on older siblings to be more responsible.
Add to that the rebellion that teenagers show and it really seems like the youngest ones get more favour.

No. Youngest children just need to most attention and care for the most part because they are younger and need more looking after while you are growing up. Think of it this way; most younger children get nothing but hand-me-downs. Now does that seem like favoritism?

It does seem that way. I'm the oldest, and it seems like my little brother was always the favorite. I have three children, and I try to treat them all the same. But it does seem like I do more for the youngest.

I know my dad does. My sister is the youngest of four. He bought her a convertible before she could even drive!!! No fair, huh? I was driving around back then in like a 94 ford taurus! haha!

i am the youngest of 4 and i got the short end of the stick, my parents did alot for my siblings and still help them more than me

I think they kinda do cause im the oldest and my parents treat my brother way better than they treat me. Im always in trouble or doing something cause my brothers busy messing around with my dad or uncle but yeah i think that younger kids got it good.

But the truth is all children should be treated evenly.
My younger sister could commit murder, yet, if I do something then they basic kill me.
It does hurt, and it does affect you.

Typically they do. I suppose it is because the last born.. the last birth they remember.. the last birth they will ever have.. the last child completes the family.. I was the first born and I havent ever been the favorite..
