Depends on the crime and the amount of drugs. I live in Florida and have been a part of many drug investigations on the state and federal level.

We have done federal cases on as little as 5 grams of crack cocaine and seen many people get as much as 20 years in federal prison. But keep in mind their arrest history was very bad and they had things like crimes of violence and prior drug convictions.

I have also done federal cases with as little as 1 pound of methamphetamine and 50 pounds of marijauna. In the end the armed bad guy died while fleeing his arrest. We seized his vehicles and house and land.

Lastly, state sanctions are starting to catch up to federal guidelines.

It depends who is in charge of the investigation. Operating a place that sells/deals drugs is a Federal offense, but it could also violate state and local laws. Whoever is responsible for the investigation and arrest are usually the ones in charge. This will determine if you will be charged under Federal or State law. You can expect a maximum of about 20 years for a first offense, but you can get a shorter sentence depending on the circumstances and your willingness to cooperate.

Depends on the amount of drugs seized from that house. In florida the state doesn't foward there case to the US attorneys office unless there is a highly signifcant amount. Like we are talking 500 pounds of weed or 1000 grams of cocaine. Which im sure if you were involved with you wouldnt be posting a question on yahoo answers.

If it's a mobile home and you drive across state lines from one state to another, then it's a federal crime. But if it's a normal house that doesn't move, or a trailer with trailer trash that doesn't move, then it's a state crime.
The answers above me are wrong. I'm right. The others are trying to unnecessarily scare you. It's a state crime 99% of the time. Hey, but it's still a crime!

There will definitely be federal charges involved. Most likely, there will ALSO be state charges involved as well.

How much time? Not nearly enough. Unless other changes can be brough on you than just drug charges, you're probably looking at no more than 10 years.

does it matter, we know its a crime, it be spent in either a state or Fed prison. I being neither in one or the other would wish my drugg-selling butt ended up in a Fed pen rather that the cheaper state run Pen.
