Your cat likely has tapeworms. They come out and look like rice that is alive. Your best bet is to take him to the vet, the vet can give you medicine to kill the worms and solve the issue. You can also buy tapeworm medicine at a lot of stores, but the vet is your best bet because it could be something else instead of worms, and only your vet would know for sure. It's a common and easy to fix problem. Tapeworms are spread by a lot of things, but fleas are a huge spreader, so you may want to consider putting your little kitty on a flea preventative like Frontline or Advantage or the other brands out there. Definitely consult your vet for this, and ask him about putting your kitty on flea control. Do not buy the cheap flea treatment drops at the grocery store, they are sometimes leathal, I knew of a friend's kitty that died from using the cheap ones, so always go to teh vet and have him check it out first.
You can read more about tapeworms here- http://www.dr-dan.com/tapeworm.htm or type in tapeworm in a search engine

What you are describing are NOT roundworms. They are tapeworms. The "rice grains" you are seeing are actually egg packets. You should not deworm your cat with something from the store. Those products are not only going to be ineffective against tapeworms, but are also very dangerous. They can cause tremors, seizures, and/or death. Go to your vet. You also may want to make sure your cat doesn't have fleas. Fleas are an intermediate host for tapeworms, so if you have one problem, you usually have the other problem. Again, go to your vet!

Go to a pets store, such as PetsMart, and purchase dewormer for cats. Tell them the cat's age and weight, and they will give you what you need. Then take care of your pet.

The worms you describe sound like typical roundworms....very easy to eradicate.

Yep he has worms. Consider taking him to the vet to get his shots, dewormed, rabies vaccination, and neutered. Be a responsible pet owner if you are going to have a pet!

Your cat probably has tapeworms. Go to the vet and get medicine to kill the intestinal parasite. Tapeworms are caused by cats eating fleas. While you are there, get some advantix or some flea bath for your cat as well, to minimize the chances of it happening again.

Tapeworm looks like rice. You need to see a vet. They will give him PyraPam or another type of multiwormer.
