No, You should never get a dodge. My dad has a dakota and it has been nothing but problems. He has spent more fixing it than he did buying it litarally.

Of the two, an S10 has a better track record. You might want to consider a Toyota Tacoma though....much more reliability. If not that, a Ford Ranger also is a good truck with a reliable 6 cyl engine. My preference would be the Tacoma though.

Go to your bank and ask for a blue book value on both.
Traditionally speaking Buick, GMC and then Dodge, falling in this order, have the better blue book values for the money for older cars and trucks.

If I were you, I would never buy nither one, buy a Toyoyta Tacoma .I have been in the car bussiness for 15 years.
