I don't think we should allow society to dictate age restrictions in relationships. There is a 21 year age gap between my boyfriend and I (I'm 27). I have never been happier in my life. Just like with any relationship, it needs to have the essentials like trust, understanding, communication, interests, goals, etc. If those elements are in place, then nothing else matters. Love is the greatest feeling in the world, and age shouldn't stop anyone from experiencing it.

My parents were more than 10yrs apart. My mom was 16 when she married my dad. He was 27. they stayed married until she died just before their 50th anniversary. So It always depends on the people. I myself find that I keep forgetting about the age thing and like the person and that can cause problems. No matter what they say. Age does matter even if they are over 18. you have to keep the age thing first then the person second or you are asking for a whole world full of problems.

It really depends on who it is. I would say like 3 years at the most, maybe 4 or 5. Not like 10 years. Also I think about it this way when people ask me: If they are 10 years older than you. You both live to be 93. At the moment you are 83 and he's 93. Are you going to be able to live for 10 years apart? It doesnt seem bad now but my friend's grandpa died. Her grandma was so sad that she killed herself. It's sad and takes a toll. The more an age difference the harder it can be.

well i never had a problem with an age difference between people as long as ur both of a legal age limit if not then just wait. i think it depends on the people as an individual and there maturity levels. If this person truly makes u happy then it really doesn't matter what the rest of the world thinks! Ur the one who has to live with it and be happy the rest of ur life. I know people with huge age differences in there relationships and they've been together for many-many years, Personally i usually date older men, but i never chose someone for there age just on how i feel about them-hope this makes u feel better!!!!

Your question is very important. In fact as per Hindu holy books their must be a difference of 9 years. Normally it should be 5 years. But still I can say there should not be any difference if relationship is based on love. But for a sound relationship the girl should be 5 years less than the boy, if it it meant for prolong relationship. Though still I say that if relationship is based on love, mutual understanding and liking for each others habit and nature, similarity in interests and hobbies and lastly if both are caring, any difference will not come in the way of relationship. I hope no body will disagree with me.

Not more than a 5 year difference. A couple in my neighborhood married and there is a 20 year difference and everyone thinks they are father and daughter because of looks and not being able to keep up with the young girl.

We'll i think over 18 is okay, if your 18 and hes 60 that would be pretty gross. I was 18 and my bf was 30 when we first met. i am now getting ready to turn 21 and he just turned 32 and we married 3 weeks ago and were expecting our first baby. I am happy. Guys my age are immature.

Okay! But not according to me . I will feel uncomfortable with a guy who is 6 yr older or a guy who is 3 yr younger than me .Only a person who is of same age can understand us!
