It is kind of sad, but they have raised standards fairly recently. Now you have a year of geography in high school, rather than just 9 weeks of it. You also take a year of World History as a sophmore.

Yeah... our primary education system has really gone down the crapper, over the past 30 years or so. Watch Jay Leno's 'Jaywalkers' segment some time... that presents an accurate cross-section of the present state of American intellect.
Well, heck... come to think of it, there's no need to watch Jaywalkers... just check out the Christians' Q&A here in Religion & Spirituality. It's pathetic.
