If you take away the outer skin we all have the same inter skin, we bleed red, and for some of us we breath the same air. So why is race so important?

It isn't....but objectively, we always tend to be together with people of our own race...it's just a social/psychological phenonmenon

Things are changing. in some places. In others they are not. I think every redneck, every racist should visit New York City. I have never seen such an array of mixed race people and mixed race couples. It is a beautiful sight. Plus,. New Yorkers on the whole,. are a very aware group of people. I love watching fellow New Yorkers, dressed to the nines, of every race conceivable, male and female, walking or hurrying to work each day.

Race is only important when we allow it to be.

You take away the skin and we are all the same "Physically". There are deep differences in race. Whitey is quiet and uptight, Blacks are loud and social, French smell bad. The list goes on for each race. Whitey and Frenchy may meet in a chat room and fall in love. Then they meet and Whitey can't stand the stench and Frenchy can's stand the smell of soap. Whitey hates the arrogance and Frenchy hates the uptight. It's just best to stay with your own.

race, in my opinion, can also mean culture. not all the time, but sometimes. a different race can sometimes also reflect a different culture. if the culture of two people, who are in love, conflict terribly between each other, then race can be important.

but i think that if you are really in love and are able to find that happiness in each other, both of you will find a way to work around it.

Never been an issue for me. I date hispanic guys because that's who I'm attracted to. The color of skin shouldn't be a deciding factor. If you like someone, that's all you need to know.

I think it's becoming less and less important as you see more interracial marriages, but to answer your question I think when you get past any racial bigotry, there remains cultural differences
and with time, especially in the US, that too will disappear as everything blends.

For some people it truly is, but to me it doesn't matter. I have dated guys from a variety of races/ethnicities. In my opinion, as long as he is a good guy who respects me for who I am, then his appearance is entirely secondary.

it's not suppose 2B important. somebody could have purple or green skin. underneath it all, we're all human. but, peers & the media drive us insane with stereotypes.
