I highly doubt it is alzheimers.
I sometimes forget whether I locked the door to my house or my truck, ETC.
People call it obsesive compulsive disorder if you foreget and check repeatedly.Which i do. Though not as much as I use to.

Also... Another thing is. If you are on some medicines. They can effect your short term memory. I have to take meds for High blood pressure. 1 of them has a side effect of short term memory problems. I told my Dr. bout it. She said if it becomes to bothersome. She could switch me to a different med. I deal with it.
Easy way to check if you washed yur hair is to see if it "Feels" clean. My hair seems to feel a bit oily if it's not washed. My hands will slide down it when It is wet. When washed though. My hands seem to meet resistance of some degree when my hair is wet. Whether this helps out or not. I don't know. Hopefully. Something in my answer will though.

I forget that sort of thing fairly often and I'm not even old. i do have some brain damage but I was forgetting everyday stuff long before that. Witth Alzheimer's, you will not only forget that you washed your hair, you won't even remember what shampoo is for. You should take a look at your life and see if anything has changed lately to make you forgetful. Extra stress, lack of sleep, menopause or even poor diet can affect memory without there having to be anything really serious wrong. If you can't find anything obvious, see your doctor.

Honestly, I forget if I've already washed my hair before. Being forgetful does not mean you have alzheimers. It probably is just lack of attention, or overall stress that is making you not focus on things well.

I forget washing my hair ALL the time. It's so annoying. You may have ADD, not Alzheimers or you may be low in iron, which makes it hard to concentrate. Relax.

There is a good chance that you are simply suffering from a vitamin deficiency. If you are older, it could be a symptom of menopause. Another possiblility is clinical depression. See your doctor, and don't sweat it. Simply wash it again if you don't remember. Nobody but you will ever know.

Memory loss is one of the first symptoms of Alzheimer's dementia.

However, it should not worry you until it has started impacting significantly on your life.

If you are worried, you should see your doctor.

You might have Alzheimers (Dr Alzheimer described it in a patient in her 40's I believe) or you might have anxiety or some other issue.

I forget stuff like that all the time. Don't sweat it though! If you are getting alzheimer, think about the fun you can have with it. Hiding your own Easter eggs, wrapping your own birthday presents.....

Alzheimers is a medical disorder, not just forgetfullness. See a doctor about this for an answer that is more precise - don't ask people on Yahoo answers..
