I'm not sure what you're writing, but when I'm working on new lyrics or poetry and get stuck I pour myself some juice and stand on the balcony of my apartment and listen to the wind in the trees for a bit. After which I take a nap. You'd be surprised at what ideas you wake up with.

There is an old adage, "a writer writes".
This means that having a block can not be used as an excuse to not write. So many people will tell you to walk away, take a break and, in essence, stop writing.
If you are writing a story and are stuck on solution, practice writing about the location or dialogue.
Writers who take breaks are mostly letting their body stretch and stepping away from the keyboard.
Solving a problem, be it in your writing or in life, can often need time to mull over, percolate or sleep on it. Your brain is still working on the problem even while you do something else.
Trust yourself, keep at it and having done all....write!

Pick a topic like.....teenage pregnancy for example. Number a paper 1-20. Then write down 20 words or phrases that are topic related that just pop into your mind. This should take no more than 7 minutes or so. Take a break and try another one. Continue until you think you sould do the same thing with whatever you are attempting to write about. Good Luck!

It depends. If you have already written something, then look over what you last wrote, for a few minutes, and then, chill. Watch TV, read a book, forget all about what blocked you. Your right brain will work on the problem subconsciously, and when you think about it sometime tomorrow or the next day, your character/story problem will have worked itself out. I've heard it said that the character will tell you what should happen.
Now, if you have nothing written yet about anything, that's another story.

I go to the shops, look at others writings, paintings anything creative or just watch people walk by while you having coffee out..if that dont do it..go to a park, beach or do something around the house, maybe that job you didnt do that has been nagging at you for soooo long..Trust me, that will do it...everytime...(you wont want to be doing that job, so creativeness for writing will kick in real fast)!!

Apparently you're in a rut. Forget about writing for awhile and do something different and fun. Go and do something new and interesting and exciting. Or try a new writing style, experiment.
Be a little crazy and shake yourself out of your rut. Be creative about this. Good luck.

Take a nice long break. A break where you do whatever makes you feel really good and relaxed, that normally helps to lift your inspiration.
Like Gwen Stefani...
Good luck
