If you're not really too familar with beers in general here's a good list. Please don't drink all that American crap like MGD, Coors, or Budweiser though.

Spaten Oktoberfest
Newcastle
Goose Island 312
Bell's Oberon
Samuel Adams Summer Ale
La Chouffe
Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout
Three Floyds Alpha King
La Fin du Mondoe

Local or imported?
Belgian beers are pretty good, and Australian of course.
Be careful if you drink "foreign" beer - check to see where it was manufactured.
The Foster's they get in the USA is (or was when I was there) brewed in Canada and tastes completely different to what we get here - although both are pretty bad imo.
Best beers are usually the ones in pubs/bars with a micro brewery on site. And believe me, they are anything but lite.

Samuel Adams Boston Lager is excellent. Others are Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Carlsburg Elephant, Guinness, Negra Modelo, and Becks.

Steele Reserve is actually considered a "premium beer" and since it contains twice the alcohol, you only need to drink half as much!

Tucker-- its a heffawiezzen (wheat beer). Nice and smooth mild hops a bit sweet and unfiltered. Import from Germany I think.
