This is a definitely a minimalist beverage, containing only soy bean extract, cane sugar and water. But I can see this beverage being enjoyed by a wide spectrum of age groups and cultures. This is a very sweet and creamy smooth presentation of the soy flavor. Soy milk is naturally sweet, but this drink has been heavily sweetened, still not as much as most soft drinks. I pick this product up regularly from the local Stop 'n Shop grocery. The sugar content may outweigh the positive isoflavone content of the soy bean, but it is a wonderful, yet simple beverage.
Ingredients in the plain (sweetened) soya sold in Hong Kong were water, soybean solids, soy oil, cane sugar (5.5%), and salt, plus vitamins A, B-1, B-2, and niacinimide. The exported soy milk contained no added vitamins. A typical 250-ml carton of soy milk for export contained 100 calories, 16 grams (6.1%) carbohydrates, 5 grams (2.0%) protein, and 3 grams (1.1%) soy oil.
The world's number 1 producer of flavored soya drinks is Coca Cola but the brand name Yeo's is bottled in the US by Pepsi-Co!
