I've never been able to find anything "fun" about spending more $$$ for less candy.

It's probably more $$ because you're paying for the convenience of having a smaller bar if you don't want a whole candy bar.

It's a marketing strategy to make the product attractive and different ("different" even than the larger size of the same candy).

I think It's fun because you get more in a bag.Plus you get a choice of what you want.

fun sizes are simply not enuff for me .. i need to eat a few block of it to feel satisfied.. hahaha
