I asked why do people automatically assume all illegals are Latino, and someone told me I was pro-illegal and a hypocrite. How lovely.
I happen to be half Hispanic, so maybe it does piss me off just a little bit when people say that the only illegals in the country are Latino, or that all the Latinos in America are illegal (I have heard it said before) So pardon me if I get a little miffed by that. I am in no way "pro-illegal" but I try to see the story from both sides of the track.

Hey, good job. You don't take any s - - - off anyone and you play your race card well.
You should do well as a cook, you can always get even with little surprises in their food as you seem to be the get even type.
A little helpful advise, you wear your race on your shoulder, and you will get it knocked off every time.
P.S. I will understand if I don't get best answer . . . . as I was just shooting for a 2 pointer anyway.
Try and have a nice day.

you asked a good question, which is why someone should answer it and not call you "proillegal" and a hypocrite when someone gave you wrong information. all immigrants are not only from Hispanic countries, but all over(including Africa, which i find out going to college). people always assume Hispanics are poor, when in fact it also that people choose the life they lead. there poor Germans, poor Israelis, poor Colombians, etc. they seem racist as well who don't understand about anyone but themselves. these are not "Great Americans ,but citizens of this country whose ancestors came over and they became citizens since the next generation from first generation immigrants. they are kind of like you only more settled because of years the family has been there.

You are not a hypocrit or pro-illegal. You just have a soft spot for your race. I do too. But I don't wanna see this beautiful country sucked dry. That's why I'm pro-illegal. You keep asking questions and make up your mind for your self what side you are on. That's what I did. Good Luck!

I don't think all Latinos are illegal. Of course, I live in California, and some of the Latinos here were here before it was part of the United States.
In fact, I used to assume that all of the Latinos I knew were legal....until I read the statistics about Los Angeles. Now, if they don't speak very good English, I sometimes wonder. However, I still don't assume.

Don't listen. Just consider the source. If they are that judgemental, do you really care what they think?
I think that too many think that all "illegal immigrants" are Latino because the ones everyone speaks of and focuses on are the Mexican immigrants that come over the border illegally. Unfortunately, they are not the only illegal immigrants in this country. ALL illegal immigrants should be deported. End of story.

I don't assume that all illegals are latinos or that all latinos here are illegals.. even though 80 percent of them are. You do come off as pro-illegal in your question maybe that's why some people would automatically assume that you were..anyways..1+1=2 points!

Unfortunately Mexicans make up about 80% of illegal immigrants. Give or take...I cant remember, you will have to look it up for yourself. With this in mind...it is easy to generalize. Either way, no matter what you are...you are illegal--you are illegal.

You were doing so well in presenting your case until you added the extra bit.
Does it really matter if some stranger thinks your pro-illegal and a hypocrite? Until their name is on your paycheck don't worry about it.

Probably because most people on Y!A are ignorant hicks. I guess it all depends on your geography, I live in Oregon and the latino population here is accepted, and most are legal citizens or immigrants. The majority of the illegals here are either of Asian, or Eastern European descent. So when you say "illegal alien" to me, it conjures up thoughts of a Russian person, or Korean person.

I don't think you are "pro-illegal" or a hypocrite. I think you are a smart young American citizen and you should be very proud of yourself for choosing a career and going for it and I wish you every success!
Like most said on here, don't let the ignorants get to you. Speak your mind and ignore those who attack you personally. You sound level headed and fair to me. You should be proud of your heritage and not let anyone tell you otherwise. But, also take pride in being an American! You go girl!
