I absolutely agree 100%. It's such a tragedy how bad this world has become.

I agree to a point. I feel that maybe the schools should just have a moment of silence, that way a child can pray or what ever ones beliefs are. Don't get me wrong, I wish every one believed in one God and worshiped the one true God, but it just isn't that way. The school shootings and all the violent happenings at school, I tend to blame on the parents. Children do not have the respect that they once did. Parents do not carry out "just" punishments for their children any more. Parents seem too busy or too distracted, or simply don't care. Regardless of ones religion, one needs to teach respect.

I don't think that would sit well with parents who practice something other than Christianity. In this day and age all religions would have to be recognized in the schools. As a Christian, would you want your child forced to worship anyone other then the Christian God?
If parents were praying with and teaching their children about God (whatever religion they believe) in the home, our schools wouldn't be in the shape they are today. The fault is in the home when children act like animals in school.

You know that Lamb is allowed is any school. Kids can pray in school if they want, no one is stopping them. It just isn't school sponsored anymore. And it shouldn't be considering the whole separation of church and state. Prayer should be taught at home and/or church, not public school.
I seriously doubt the fact that prayer was taken out of school has anything to do with school violence, try violent media or something reason of that sort. You can't just link two trends. I mean I could say that a lack or prayer in schools has led to a boost in scientific progress, or that a lack or prayer has allowed racial segregation to be removed in public schools. Btw, Japan has the lowest crime rate of any developed nation, and there is no prayer in school there.

Yes and no. Morals definately need to be taught in school because they are not being taught at home.
However, teaching morals by teaching religion in school has it's problems. People believe in different faiths, and you would have to be sensitive to what religion they believe in.
We do have to do something, but it should start at home with parents and be reinforced at school.

"Everyday got worse and worse,
And days turned into years.
Instead of hearing children laugh,
We heard gun shots and tears."
*stares at everyone killing each other in the Middle East, right now and also throughout world history, over religion*
Oh, the irony....

I'm with the first poster.
and I would add that you have a very naive concept of what would happen if prayer were let into public school.
YOU'd be the first to demand it removed the very next day.
If you can't figure out why, then you should do a little research on the 1st amendment.

smh73448,
That was REALLY cool! The original poem makes you wonder it's intent, doesn't it?
I think we both know that some people won't like it. But I do.
Okay you gave me a poem, I'll give you something that I wrote. It's really odd, but if you read it, you will see the witness in it.
My Endless Hatred
I hate all of the things that keep me from ruling anything I want. Eons of time pass as I watch, and the Godmen are still so oblivious to the reality of their inheritance!
Look at them, they plan their days to entertain themselves, work to entertain themselves, sing to entertain themselves, and then the days come when they get old and dependant on others for their lives, their sicknesses plague them constantly, I work into their miserys when I can.
Oh and THEN they begin to die. Everybody they know comes around to console them. How sad they seem to be, when they leave the place they are visiting, it's back to their sickening lives.
Oh HOW I'VE BEEN ROBBED! I made them fail in their early days. They had the choice to make between what I said and what He said, they chose what I said and still He calls them and some respond.
MY VICTORY IS STOLEN! THEY were MINE then! BUT once again He stole them from me, my people that I would betray, how sweet they are to fool! Oh man, who told you that you are mortal? What imagination did settle in your stupid human minds that allowed you to believe you didn't have a soul?
HA! I laugh at your puny little belief that you are so insignificant to the plan of Him that made all things. You THINK you just happened randomly? You THINK that you suffer for no good reason? You THINK that you die, and you don't die! HA! I say in your face, ASSES!
Your soul extends to eternity, but as long as I keep you entertained with depression, with problems, with suffering, with news of the world and cares of the world you walk right into my trap.
You die without HIS covering! Oh so stupid little creations, and you were to become as His brothers! Stupid little creations, you allow yourselves to piss on your own inheritance!
So, wait a little longer. I will be your master in a while. You will be rejected by Him and I will pound you through all eternity in the place that was prepared for ME! HA HA HA HA HA HA!

what horsecr*p. religion belongs in church so kids can be brainwashed with bullsh*t sermons and hypocritical preachers spewing garbage out their mouths and callin it love and peace and worship of a deity they wouldn't see if he bit them on the *ss. kepp religion out of schools and teach something besides stupidity they call giving education. teach them to read something besides a comic book, do math beyond how many dots are added to make smiley fgaces, and how to write above the level of babbling baboons. and give them homework which cannot come from a computer program., but requiresa rthewm to be able to write using pen and ink in their hand, not the hp laserjet.

Oh, please. Have you ever heard of the separation of Church and State? What kind of prayers do you want? Islamic prayers? Pagan prayers? Why should one religion be recognized in schools? How would you like to be in the minority and be forced to listen to the prayers of another religion? There is no government established religion in the US so come off it.

The problem with having God in schools, is that not everyone believes in Him. You'd be enforcing a belief on people who deserve their freedom of not having a religion, or having one different from you.
