Miss Kierra...
Why would you want to try it.
I was fat .. and I went through a grueling diet that in retrospect was too fast. I however was able to stop.
This inspired my brother who was heavy-- to "diet" but he went down the anorexic route . and had trouble stopping. I found out years later he was binging and purging during his quote diet. He lost weight, but he also almost died.
If you just want the sensation .. and some do .. people fast all the time .. many think it is good for the body and/or gives character .. sure give it a try. But don't make it a life style. Don't do it more than say once a month.
Find something you like, or might like to do, and try it. Walk, get involved with your religion, get involved with a sport (swiming, hiking, dancing...) music, get involved with a martial arrts club .. one that is high touch and low on rambo. (most aikido groups are like that)
Pick the low hanging fruit .. streach a little .. not a lot. Pref something with people around that will probably be nice to you. not something really competitive and leave if people are being mean.
This should help the self esteem, and with that .. then any body perception problems.
Go girl go!

Sweetie anorexia as a term is not something that can be tried consciously. Anorexia is an image distortion. The person that has it preceives his/herself as overweight and tries everything to loose the "unwanted" weight.
You definitely know where you stand in terms of weight. If not you would never state "I'm not fat at all".
Please do not experiment with your body. In order to have a healthy mind you also need to have a healthy body and vice versa.
If you feel like talking to someone and get more help on your current thoughts consult a professional.

anorexia is NOT something that should be tried...EVER! If you think you are not fat, then why torture yourself?? If you want to get into better shape, exercising really is the BEST way!!!!
If you think you have a low self esteem, look deep inside yourself and point out a few things that you really like...maybe it's your humor, or your brains. anything.
but please, before anything gets worse, THINK! If you really need help find a social worker or someone you can trust to talk out your issues. good luck!

I am anorexic and have been since I was about your age. No you do NOT want to go down that road. I suggest that you ask your parents to take you to the doctor because you are concerned about your weight. Also, I suggest you join a sport at your school or in your neighborhood. It is better to have a healthy lifestyle than to go down the road you are considering. It causes horrendous health problems and awful depression later on. It just isn't worth it.

hello
one thing is for sure. anorexia and starvation is not for anyone else on this world and certainly not for you. you said it yourself that you are not fat, then what's the point in trying it? if it is just out of curiosity then my friend forget about it. it's not worth it. anorexia is a horrible disease and is just like addiction. in fact an anorexic person is addicted to the thought of not eating. when one becomes anorexic then the mere sight of food revulses them. they take food as being an enemy that they need to fight off. Food is in fact your best friend because this is what sustains you. and moreover it keeps you alive. anorexia is not to be taken as a joke nor is it to be taken lightly. whenever one gets anorxia his body functions get haywire due to lack of food. you lose weight too rapidly as your body tries to compensate for the daily lack of food. you start having nausea whenever you try to eat and if you do eat you feel the necessity to make yourself vomit just to remove the little amout of food that was in your stomach. i even saw a girl refuse to eat salad because it will make her fat! when you reach the critical point in losing weight if ever someone has noticed the condition you are in, you will be admitted in a hospital and believe me it is no fun. they will put under intraveinous feeding with a neddle sticking in each arm. if you are someone who is not into needles then think of it twice even thrice before doing anything as such. if the intraveinous feeding doesn't help and it often happens, they put you on Hyperalimentation, also called hyperal. they stick a tube of a larger diameter than the intraveinous tube into you and they usually make it pass through an incision make near your neck or on your breast bone. this tube is made to get to your stomach and food is dirctly transported into your stomach. it will be fluid mostly. and at this stage you will be weak and oving about will be difficult due to energy lacking in your system. at this point your body will lose it heat retaining ability since it will have used all your body fat to maintain you alive. Fat is the thing which enable you to maintain a constant body temperature. since you won't hae it you will constantly feel cold even of you wear a lot of pullovers. Body fat does not only make you look fat and put on weight. fat also protects your internal organs by acting as a shock absorber. whenever you fall or someone knock you in the stomach or anywhere fats absorb the force behind it so that your organs do not suffer any damage. if you don't even have body fat your organs will be more vulnerable. you will get hurt more easily.
and then in an attempt to warm up your body your system will react in a way to insulate it that is mak it lose the least amount of heat possible. you will have a fine duvet (hair) growing all over you everywhere, on your arms, your legs, face, chest evrywhere. and then this won't hlp much and it worsens but you dont want to hear about this. finally you risk dying and that is a slow death and an awfully painful one, mind. so take my word for it girl and stay away from it.
however if you still think about it and feel low, talk to someone, your parents.if you are not willing to talk to your parents then a friend a relative a teacher, anyone as long as it helps you lighten things on your mind. and talk to a counseller if you can. but do not remain silent. you did a good thing by asking about it online. now go a step further by contacting someone you know and who is nearer to you. good luck and if ever you need to talk, contact me on smoniaruch@yahoo.com.
