Instead of celery in my macaroni salad, I use cucumber. It has the same pleasing crunch with out the overpower taste of celery (I think celery has a strong flavor) and stringiness of celery. I also like to throw tomato into my macaroni salad but that's more of a personal choice not because the recipe calls for it.

Make a nice salad dressing to put on it. Use 33% olive oil, 66% white wine vinegar blendeed together. If you don't have a blender put them in a SEALED jar and then shake vigorously. To this mixture try adding any, some or all of the following: a teaspoon of sugar, a little Dijon mustard, some crushed garlic, a little horseradish, salt, pepper - and anything else that you may have in the cupboard that sounds like a good idea. Make sure you shake these well into the mixture too. Pour a little of this over the salad - but don't overdo it!

I'd put a little celery salt in the dressing. Just a few dashes would be good and give a bit of flair to the salad, w/o the crunch.

You can put anything you want in your macaroni salad. If you don't use the celery, it won't have the crunch.
How about making the salad with the celery, but putting aside a dish for Sis.

If I have no celery, I use celery SEED, not salt. Celery salt is just that, a salt...it can be bad for people who are not supposed to be ingesting much. Oh, and easy with the seed,...a little goes a long way.

If you use celery salt it will add some celery flavour to the dish. Just be certian to taste it before adding more actual salt. I Use celery salt all the time in chicken noodle soup to add more flavor to it.

If you like salted foods, you can use it, but I would'nt say use it in place of Celery, it's salt!
What else do you have in there? Got diced pickles, they add crunch, so does diced red bell pepper, just go easy on the celery salt.

Celery SALT will make it too salty. Replace the celery with something else crispy like napa cabbage, leeks, or just leave it out.

Don't use celery salt, that will just ruin it. Add diced carrots instead, it will give it that crunch and it tastes great!
