I just bought this car from a family friend & accidentally set off alarm - my hubby disengaged alarm under the hood to shut off the horn but now car won't start & parked at a relative's house. We've tried taking the fuses out for the alarm system & we've tried disconnecting the battery for a couple of hours but so far, nothing has worked. PLEASE HELP!!

I have a key, smarta** - if I were going to steal a car, it sure as hell wouldn't be a 1993 model, you feelin' me?? I got this car for an errand car & it was only $200 but for the past week, it's been doing crazy things with the electrical system like windows going up & down by themselves & now this: the alarm going off all by itself. I need help not sarcasm.

I stumped my toe...... I think I will get a hair cut. Makes about as much sense as what you did. What idiot talked you into putting a new motor in because it would not start? I have heard of some pretty shady tricks to milk some money out of people but this one is headed to the top. Get a tester and check the battery.Auto Zone will do it for free.If it works check the starter.Hey guess what? Auto Zone will do that to.If it works it must be a relay before the starter. please tell me this is just a joke and you really didn't replace the motor because it wouldn't start.

Plug back in the alarm horn high in engine compartment roll down a window in case you get locked out. There are three security system switches Front door locks and trunk lock. Make sure all the doors and hood are shut. Turn the door lock to unlock or trunk lock to unlock and hold it about one second walk around to see at the dash is the security light off? Should start now. After that try setting the security system turn key in door lock to lock one second & security light should light. After 45 seconds start to flash system armed. First start up the security horn will beep fast five times to remind you to check to see if your car has been broken into, or small robber is hiding in the back seat.

Put alarm back the way it was and then find the Valet switch in your car. (little red button under dash and may be hard to spot) Then turn key to on position and the hold down valet button until alarm shuts off.

My cars alarm system has a 9 volt battery in the alarm box. If you have one too, you should be able to remove it and the alarm should reset itself. The battery might be under a lid that is screwed in.

the Nissan company has a website but how to dismantle an alarm system really should be asked of the car burglars.

You gotta look in the manual if you have it. Itll tell you how to disengage it. We had to do it to our Grand Prix, cuz it kept going off. And would you believe by law the GM dealership wouldnt do it for us? We had to do it, but our manual told us how to. Look online for the manual, if you dont have one.
