Sure, it's nice, but it's a drop in the bucket when compared to the cost of raising a child. So not only is it far from being the best thing, it doesn't even make the top 100 list.
The best part are the special moments that you can only get with a child.
All of their first moments, like first smile, first tooth, first word, first step...
The crazy things that only a child can get away with saying, and being able to laugh at them.
The hugs and kisses that are better than any other you have gotten in your whole life.
For any parent that thinks it is the best, then I feel sorry for them. Maybe they shouldn't even have the child in the first place.

Good god. Well, does this answer your question? I totally forgot about the tax deduction!
That has nothing to do with being a parent. That has to do with money you earned that helps support your family that you love. It's not like the government gives you "free money" for having a child. Duh.
My husband and I have a 7 month old daughter. I don't know if I could tell you the best part of being a parent. Just being a parent in itself is so rewarding and has put my life in such a positive light.
Don't ask anymore stupid questions like this, it only insults you.

No.
The laughter, many many questions, scraped knees that are healed by a kiss, the snuggles and races to the car or bathtub, and rocking together in the rocking chair after a bad day or just because, and sharing stories together, and the first tooth lost (and the look on his face), and the plans shares every night for what he will do tomorrow... those are the best part of being a parent.
(and considering how much a child costs each year.... the "tax deduction" is nothing)

No, the tax deduction or Earned Income Credit is not the best part. The child is. The unconditional love you will feel for the rest of your life goes beyond any amount of money.
BUT to be honest, the money come tax time is a nice bonus. Love em with all my heart but damn they are expensive.

Maybe true from the person that's told you that relevant to them, but as for me, Tax Deduction didn't play a part in me and my husband planning our family, and the deduction is hardly noticeable insofar as I'm concerned... nothing to write home about, anyway.
That's really an inconsiderate reason for having children.
I've never heard of such in our circle of family and friends.

No... I'm sure whoever said that to you must have been joking. Actually, the tax deduction is not all that great... so if you're looking to screw uncle sam... children are not the way to do it. Have children because you want to have the most fulfilling experience of your life... not extra bucks in your check.
By the way... it costs a bundle just to raise a child.

Thats funny hahahahahah.
Any one who thinks this deep down in their heart isn't worthy to be a parent to begin with.....
Remember honey you have children and that deduction is for their benifit/needs not for you.If it were not for a few of those deductions I wouldn't be able to put food on the table for my children, and that is counted as being a blessing in my book!

No, not at all. Kids are hope for the future, and a joy...even when they are going through the "Terrible Two's". Someone that wants kids just for a tax deduction should not have kids at all!!

that is such a crazy question.... NO the best part of having children is watching them grow up and doing the things they enjoy to do. This is coming from a 20yr old mother of 2 boys 3 and 1. I love them to pieces and would do just about ne thing to see them happy and healthy:)

I lost my 2 year-old son in a car accident almost 6 years ago. I miss him everyday... his smile, his giggle, holding his hand, his hugs...
I have never once thought about that tax deduction I am no longer getting.
