People eat it in many parts of the world. It doesn't have the same sugar content and it is quite good. Now I find the yellow corn too sweet.

years ago yes you could, however times have changed! The pesticide and herbicide levels are very high. If you choose to eat it now, make sure it is young and tender, not something that has been on the stalk all year! Shuck it and soak it in water for at least 20 minutes, clear your water and wash with a rubbing motion. Then cook. It;s easier to go to the store and get some sweet corn!

Yes but it probably won't taste as good as sweet corn. It's grown mainly for animal feed.

yes it can, but pick before the silk turns brown, and soak it for a bit after shucking. Don`t add salt to the boiling water, use a bit of sugar instead!

That is what it is planted for. It is also used to make cornmeal and grits. ( if you aren't from the south that is a breakfast cereal)
