if i buy a tv tuner card will i get a quality picture on my laptop? will i get reception anywhere if i'm traveling? or better yet is there any way possible to get reception in the canyons and mountain areas or will i need more than a tv tuner card? whatever way possible i need to know the best and cheapest way possible.

Not at all. There are some comapnies (e.g. satellitetvclub) who provide 3000+ TV/Radio stations from all over the world. And the main thing is its free. You have to pay one time software download charge (i think $49) only. You can watch TV from your PC / Laptop. And it doesnot require any additional hardware like TV tuner card or something like that.

Your tuner card is separate from your graphic card.

What you can receive is based upon what type of turner card that you buy. Some will take signals off the air and are supplied with a wire antenna, other require a connection just as your TV does.

All the possibilities for connection a TV exists with TV turner cards.

As you know, the only Santa Claus, is your parents. In the commercial world, cheapest means, we take your dimes and you get the trash from the toilet!

A more expensive TV tuner card will in general give you a better picture thanm a cheap one. They hook to cable, so canyons and mountains will not matter as long as you have cable available.

dude for a tv tuner card to work properly u have to connect it to the signal cable which ur cable man gives to u it's not a wire less solution there r though wireless solutions for this kind of things also dell provides it as an accessory in their gaming laptops check dell.com for more details but that too in US of A only if u r in INdia then frget it....
