You can't bring back that same stuffed animal. It won't have the same energy and love that your daughter loved into it. Don't try to deceive her.
However, try running over it with a Hummer, then throw it around on her bed to pick up the old vibrations, and tell her that this is "-phephant" baby of her lost one, and it will be here to keep her company for a long time, until they meet again. Then bless it, and take special care of it like it's mother would do. Like you do for her.

Never had to do this... but here's what I would do:
Wash it in the washing machine with a pair of sneakers... tumble dry until just damp... put it on a towel, fold the towel over, and place a heavy flat object on it overnite. The next day, see what the condition looks like, and if you've had some result... repeat the process.
A quicker method.... undue part of the stitching and remove some of the fill from inside and sew back up. Still wash it to give it a worn look.
Somehow... I don't think she's going to get fooled by this. You may be better off telling her a story. Tell her that phephant went to the beauty stylist... and got himself all freshened up for her... so she can hug & squeeze him soft & mushy again.

If washing and drying with blow drier doesn't work try to press new Phephant between heavy 2 heavy objects like pressing flowers. You don't say how old she is maybe you could tell her that had a bath. Good luck, hope old phephant find his way home.

Put it through the wash, and tell her you put her old one through the wash and that's how it's come out. Hopefully it will lose a bit of shape while in the washing machine. Or you could wash it and while its wet, put something heavy on it for awhile so it becomes flatter.

open the stuffed animal and un-stuff it. then saw it again.
finally, roll it outside in dirt, scratch it and show it like that to your kid: wow, i found it back but it needs lots of cleaning.
she will witness the changes so understqnd by herself why after washing it might be different.
cheers.

Do like the commercial. Wash the car with it, run over it, sling it around.
