I also have a 2000 Nissan Frontier, and I love it. Before that I had a Nissan Xterria (?). The only thing I have had to do to the truck is have the air conditioner fixed, and fortunately it was covered by the warranty.

There are better choices than Nissan for a car or truck. The first guy had it right about Toyota, but even their trucks have issues too.

I bought my '83 720 (2WD dual cab) with 105,000km 17 years ago. I sold it last week with 393,000 km! The rings were worn out on this original engine. I have replaced the clutch, universal, oil pump, engine mounts, water pump, and a couple of hoses; but thats ALL! It would still do 100kph and consumption was 8.8L/100km (32mp imperial gallon). Apart from 5000km services it cost me $31 per 1000km or $520 per year to own. Not too bad. PS My replacement ute is a '93 Nissan Navara.

Nissans are rock soild, very reliable and parts are reasonable. Really no more expensive to repair or maintain than any other truck out there.

I owned a Pathfinder for about 5 years and had to do nothing but change the fluids, they are very good trucks. But, if it has a V6, don't pull things that should be pulled by a V8. That will hurt any truck...
