Everyone knows this is a precursor to Goldilocks and the Three Bears

At the table in the kitchen, there were three bowls of porridge. Goldilocks was hungry. She tasted the porridge from the first bowl.

"This porridge is too hot!" she exclaimed.

So, she tasted the porridge from the second bowl.

"This porridge is too cold," she said

So, she tasted the last bowl of porridge.

"Ahhh, this porridge is just right," she said happily and she ate it all up

It means that you go with the flow so not to cause anyone any embarassmetn. You are more occupied about what people think about what you believe than believing that its ok to have your own thoughts on a subject. That if you had the chance you woudl denounce that you just told a believer that you believe in God. You are on the fence, you say what you think the people want to hear. You agree just because you don't want to be different or are afraid to stand up and say that you believe in the Christ when there is a room full of people telling you He never existed, so Christ will not know you when you need him to hold you. But remember that He is also compassionate and if you choose to belong to Him and demonstrate that Love He will then forgive you. You don't have to confess your sins to a human being priest as God knows the heart of every man and He will know if you really mean to change, its not easy. But the more you ask for His help in understanding the more He will grant you the knowledge you seek. Bless you for seeking truth where there is none and do not sway in what you know is to be the truth.

hi, nicely.... a non-catholic would not understand the respond besides...haha... so which you would be able to would desire to fairly supply your 2 factors to a catholic.... or is this segregation? haha... ok, the reason being that the catholic communion is a sacrament ( a holly sign) out of the 7...sacraments... an, so as to acquire the communion you will desire to first have been "baptised" as a Catholic, baptisim being the 1st Catholic sacrament gained as an toddler (in many cases).... Baptisim is a sacrament that provides thye toddler the "hyperlink" to God throught the "hyperlink" of his mum and dad faith....Catholicisim... A Catholic baby is "risk-free as such by "divine capacity" and is shown a thank you to wish and thank Jesus, and Mary, and the Holy Spirit, and the father, and so on... for his or her relatives and their safekeeping, and so on.... toddlers study very youthful the merely right and incorrect in lifestyles, the mortal sins (7) and quite some prayers, and so on.... all and sundry can get the communion devoid of any questions requested, yet, the magnitude of the Catholic communion is that Catholics are in union with God under the "Catholic" education, to that end, the Catholic Pope is the earth ultime representative of Jesus... Do non-Catholics conform to that? not likely... and so, the Catholic communion has no authentic value whilst taken via a non-Catholic.... yet no one is refused.... ever.... the sole ones in wisdom that they'd desire to not participate are those that have been excommuniated via the pope, simply by fact of severe motives like divorce (an prolonged time in the past), or if not finished their Easter communion (that's the minimum one time a year required to stay so as with the Catholic church "in many cases")... wish this clears your question....

This is from John's visions about the church in Laodicea.
Firstly, it can only be understood within the context of the other six visions. They fall into a pattern; this is the last and is negative.
Most probably, the community in Laodicea did not accept the Johannine tradition of which Revelation was a part, and the author of Revelation (not John the Apostle but those among his disciples) is condemning them for it.

Well I'm not a Christian at all, but I seem to think the verse means something that associates gray from black and white or highway divisions...kinda' like a fence sitter playing both sides for the greedy benefit of themself.

Noone likes a fence sitter. Pick a side of the property and call it yours, but don't drive in the middle of the road.

How's that for a paraphrasing to the modern world?

If you read the whole passage in Rev. 3. it is clear He is not speaking to true believers. These are tares not wheat. Goats not sheep. They are in a church but they are not the Church. These are the people that think they are christians but they are not. They are not in the world and they are not really the true church - so they are lukewarm. That is my opinion of this passage - take it or leave it.

Some people recognize God's blessings and get closer to him. Other people get closer when we face adversity. But there is also another group who stay at arms length. They do not renounce God, but the also do not really live to serve him. Their faith is old and dead, but they still have a little left. By spitting them out, God forces them out of their comfort zone. They will either seek him or renounce him.

It means, you are on a wall. You have one foot in earthly things and one foot in Godly things. You haven't made a choice which way to go. You are either with God or with the world. You can't be in between (lukewarm). He wants you and He won't share you with Satan.

There is a Spiritual battle going on, Satan hates us and wants us to spend eternity in hell. God loves us and wants us to spend eternity in heaven with Him. God will not share us. We are either with Him or against Him. We can't be some where in the middle.

Think of spies, American spies. If they were working for both the Russians and Americans, we would hate them. We would think they were traitors. How could they say they are American and give our secrets to Russia.

Same with God, how can we say we are Christians and do worldly things that God hates?????

The original English translation used the word "vomit" you out of my mouth.

"I know thy works, that thou art neither cold, nor hot. I would thou wert cold, or hot. But because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold, nor hot, I will begin to vomit thee out of my mouth." - Apocalypse 3:16

NEITHER HOT NOR COLD
"My Mother has been sent to you to guide you in the days ahead. She is a Mediatrix between mankind and the Eternal Father. Do not cast Her words aside or treat them lightly, for you are then going fast into darkness.
"When you come before Me, the Eternal Father, and the Spirit, you will be judged. If you are found lukewarm, neither being hot nor cold, I will vomit you from My mouth and cast you into the fires of eternal damnation! You cannot play the middle road, My pastors! You cannot mislead My sheep by giving in to the values of man! You must not change--you must not trade your soul and bargain for your world. No man can have both, the world and the spirit.” – Jesus, May 17, 1975

"Arrogance and pride has made man close his eyes and become blind to what is happening. Because of his sin, he has been allowed to be blinded. Satan gathers his army of souls--fallen souls, lukewarm souls, and man of pride--to bring about the downfall of My House, My Church. But I say unto you, as your God: the gates of hell shall not open wide enough and empty fast enough to destroy My Church.” – Jesus, December 31, 1976

"My children, there is much work to be done to save souls. You must now go on foot throughout your country. There are others, many false prophets, on foot, My children. You must now follow them and restore the souls of those whom they have contaminated. I say this, My children, now because they have taken what you may call your lukewarm Catholic brothers and sisters and carried them off to the portals of purgatory and hell.
"My children, do you who have left the road and entered into apostate religions, do you not realize that you have renounced your chance to enter into the Kingdom of your God, Heaven? My children, all who are baptized by the waters of life must remain within the fold!” – Our Lady, September 28, 1978
