I tried HP support. They have or had Laserjet 4 but not 4L. This gives me an interface problem with old doc files.

You May try downloading it from www.driverguide.com they have wide range old and new drivers, u need to register first, yes its free. Just scan first the files mostly its a zip file.

go to www.hp.com and click support and downloads and in the box type your printer model number and go and state which operating system you have; and go
