Is there any over the counter test that you can buy at a drug store that you can test your kid to see if he is smoking? I have a 15 year old I KNOW is smoking but I cant prove it. Don't say just talk to him...I have tried. His friends smoke and I know he is....I need to find out for sure.

I had a friends that smoked, my parents smaoked yet I never did. has your son ever lied to you before? I know you don't want to hear this but not all kids do what thier friends do. I got blamed for things I didn't do because my firends did it. Once my mom almost made me smoke a cigerette when I was like 14 or so because of a stupid baby siter she had for my little sister(my sister is 12yrs younger than me so just cause i was old enough to stay alone I wasn't old enough to watch a 2yr old for 40hours a week during summer vacation) decided to smoke in the house and not empty the ashtry. she saw a different type of cigerret in there. ack I remember cyring and crying and just palin old begging and pleading to NOT have to do it because I found it so revolting. thankfully she didn't make me do it. the sitter was fired and the mom called but man ack close call for me.

im pretty sure there isnt anything you can by to test for smoking. but i think that you stop letting him hang out with his friends thats do it. because most likely peer pressure is half the problem. also you should talk to him everytime you get a chance. when it comes to situations like this you can never talk too much. talk to him as much as it takes to get it threw his head that he shouldnt be smoking.
maybe try giving him a cig and you can most likely tell by his reaction if its his first time or not.
really you should just tell him that if he is smoking that hes getting himself into alot more than he knows. let him know that smoking does not make you cool but it does have alot of after effects all threw life wether he realizes it or not, and the only reason your stressing all this to him is for his owne good and that you care about him and you want whats right.

If you knew he was smoking you wouldn't need a test.
Does he smell like he is smoking? Does his breath smell like smoke? Is he always chewing gum or tic tacs?
I remember when I was about 15 my mom accused me of everything. I did nothing she accused me of. I finally got tired of it. I figured if I was being accused of doing something I was gonna do it. I turned into a wild child. Just be careful about how you go about accusing him of doing something just because his friends do.

How do you know for sure? My own mother thought I was a smoker until she find out otherwise. She jumped to conclusions and put me in a spot. This was a very long time ago, and she NEVER EVER did apologize for it.

If he is already smoking (you should smell cigarettes on him), he is going to continue til HE decides to quit., that should not stop you from talking to him about smoking...consequences...long term short term...everyday !!hope that he will not graduate to smoking pot....or any other drugs...
