I think some of them can bring real enlightenment and others are just pure fantasy. Self-aware in the sense of getting you in touch with your sub-conconscious, but not in the same sense as your waking self.

i couldn't tell u how many of my dreams have been prophetic
some dreams are just sub-conscious but others i think are a gift from a spiritual plane. paying attention to all dreams and i guess that would make them self awareness
