Yes, you should not be held up just because you cannot drive. It can take a yr or two once your seizures are under control for the Registry of motor vehicles or your dr. to let you drive again. If not each state has their own site under these sites you will see sections for disabilities such as the Epilepsy Foundation, Mass Rehabilitation commision etc. each transit company like the MBTA has discounts for people with disabilities your state should have one similar to Massachusetts. Please look at these sites especially Your state site under the governor and MRC because they are located in every state just that conneticut could be crc. I have listed different websites that you can look at if you are in Mass. if not go to your state governor's site. I hope I have been of help to you. remember stay strong. Best wishes.

If you live in the UK, you can claim Disability Living Allowance or Disability Working Allowance, dependent on whether you work or not, obviously. This is broken down into two core components: the Care Component (if you need aid with your care) and the Mobility Component (if you need help with getting around).

These are not terribly easy to apply for and receive. You need to have the backing of your doctor (GP) who must sign a declaration stating that you need assistance with either your personal care, or with getting around. You may have to attend for a medical exam with a doctor authorised to make this decision on behalf of the Department of Work and Pensions (as it is now called).

The Care Component is broken down into three levels, dependent on how much assistance you need, and the Mobility Component you either get because you are too disabled to get around, or you don't get, if the doctor sees you as being able to manage.

Best of luck to you.

Where ever you are ask your Doctor, Call Social Services, Seniors Services has a lot of info for all ages. Since you are Epileptic you should contact the national Epileptic Association since they will be able to help you in various ways.
