this is something i have asked on yahoo answers and never got satisfactory response from christians or other theists
the typical answer god always exists and it exists outside of time, and is not subject to the laws of nature
(this it doesn't exist if you ask me)

You know, I have thought about that, the thing is, God was there before time. I for one cannot comprehend that, but it's true. It's not just that God can see into the future and the past, He's living it. God isn't just in every place, He's in every time, right now. He isn't limited by time. So there wasn't a beginning to when God was there, He didn't need to be created, He was just always there. Always. As humans, I don't think we could ever fully grasp that.

Every story has to have an author. If the creation of the universe and all things post Big Bang are the story, then the author (God) had to exist before the story was written. Somebody had to come up with the idea, right?

I know it is hard to accept but God is infinite unlike us because he created us, its too much for our brains to grasp, one day you will know all the secrets of the universe.
God has no beginning and no end this is why he is infinite and he is composed of The Father, The Son, The Holy Spirit, he experiences things through his creations. Pray that you will understand and it will be granted you.

The churches will all tell you "its a great mystery." So its up for grabs. I have no clue, except I very much doubt that god is a "he " or a "she." That puts the whole creation thing in nature's hands.....and where the heck did nature come from?

God is a spirit. He existed before everything else ever did. He is not the big bang theory.

We are His creations ourselves and having been given limited understanding, this is one of the things that are beyond us. Scripture says that God existed before TIME. He is the ALPHA and OMEGA - the BEGINNING and the END.

the God don't give us the ability to think about what the God is. that's why human can't think what made the God. In Islam, it's restricted to think about it because this reflects unbelieving.

I have wondered the same but I think some things are left unanswered, the best thing is just believe in him and you will have everlasting life
