I don't know any numbers concerning this. What is your source? I can only speak for myself. I drink in moderation. It can be fun to go to a nice bar and talk to smart people. A few drinks make one feel better. Too many make one sick after behaving foolishly, but I avoid that. I don't read the Bible now, but I was sent to church where Mom's father was pastor, so I read the Bible when I was a boy. Even then, I began to see it was naive. As I learned more, I see it has dozens of contradictions and dozens of scientific inaccuracies. Why read nonsense? Going to church is hardly fun. I remember hard seats, boring lessons and sermons that made no sense. I hate the gospel music too. After 2 or 3 hours of this torture, one must give to regular offering, special offering and building fund. I don't need all of that. I live to suit myself, not some imaginary god. I am free!

The bible says nothing about drinking, also the bible speaks of not harming your body but drinking is actually good for you unless you abuse it

I think you are hanging out with the wrong crowd. There are people out there living their life for the lord, you just need to find them.

Good question!
It probably has to do with bars & drunkeness being MUCH more fun than church or Bible study.
MUCH.

you sound frustrated. everyone is allowed to make choices - as you grow older and more mature, your choices, values, and reasoning may change, but it is still important that you are allowed to make your mistakes in order to learn from them. besides, everything always happens for a reason - for starters, many people find god after hitting rock bottom, as can anyone in aa or similar programs attest. so cheer up. whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right?

We are a society of weak-minded people. It is a lot easier to drink or do drugs than face the challenges of life.

Some people realize that the way their life is going, isn't the way that they want it to go - so they want to make a positive change.
