I have and i cannot unerstand most of it. I read somewhere that some 85% of the koran cannot be understood even in its original arabic by arabs. is that why there are so much problems with the muslims?

I tried for about 10 min. I agree, I couldn't figure out what it was saying most of the time and gave up.

The problem with them is more that there are parts (large parts) that believe it is their duty to spread the religion by the sword. And that gives the the moral standing to do horrible things.

I find it odd that they prove the Pope right by violent demonstrations because they are angry that he said they were violent. I felt the same way about the cartoons.

Christianity and Islam seem like the most exclusive of the major religions. Many Christians say that if you do not believe in Jesus Christ ( even though you have not heard of Him or the Bible) then you are doomed to eternal punishment.

Best to observe the local customs and keep quiet.
Sura 2:193

Women's rights? Well it is a different cuture, but scourging?!
Sura 4:34

When Allah turns people to disbelief, Muslims are supposed to help Allah punish them. Sura 4:88-89

The Qu'ran, however, seems to want to give it to the unbelievers now by smiting them above their neck and cutting off their fingertips. Sura 8:12-13

They treat unbelievers better if they have an agreement or treaty with them but look what happens as soon as hte treaty expires. and Ramadan has passed. Sura 9:5

One is given the distinct impression that it is best not to stand near a literate, Qu'ran thumping Muslim. Fortunately, many Muslims appear to have found other ways of interpreting or ignoring these passages. Sura 9:123

i read an english tranlation, try Yusuf Ali, or Abdalhaqq and Aisha Bewley Translation. It has to do with education. Being honest. But yes, many people are not able to read the Quran because of low comprehension so it is logical that many don't have the essential to understanding and following the religious faith. Many leader are not promoting Literacy because they want to conrtol them, but this is also how Europe was in the Middle Ages, the Preachers taught that they only can read and comprehend the bible and most people were illeterate. Soon the rennisance in the middle east will occur in a few hundred years.

yes, i have. translating it is so hard because it's using the most complicated arabic language which is every words have it's own meaning. it's not fake, and need patience, inteligence, and effort to understand it because it's straight from Allah. some ppl don't respect it, but i'm sure it's just because they don't understand. everything is told in koran (actually it's Qur'an). i find things about economy, sickness, health, and a lot of good things after reading it over and over and over again.

Man, I gave Koran a chance but all I got was a migraine. Maybe when I am free of stress I'll take the time to read it during X-mas. Maybe I'll discover a special code or something.

I don't know what you are talking about. I've read several translations. Some are better than others, but is certainly is easier to understand than the KJV Bible.

I've not yet learned to read Arabic.

The koran is quite simple to understand. It is important to understand before you begin that is is simply a list of mohammed's utterences when in his "holy trances". It is not a narrative and does not tell a story.

Trust me you can't understand Qur'an until you have faith in God. The message will not open up if you are trying to read it for mischievious purposes. You will read it but not understand it, you will listen it but can't understand the message because God place the shield in front of your eyes . This is God's promise in Qur'an.
