Ive heard the crucifixion story so many times that it has hardly any effect on me anymore. I dont know how to change that. I want it to affect me like it should.

As Christians, sometimes we take it lightly. I'm sure you saw the movie The Passion, the gore was very true. In fact it was probably worse. But the beating wasn't the main thing. God can't look upon us in our sinful state. Jesus became that sin, one who was sinless. God couldn't even look upon His own son in that state. "My God, My God, why hast thou forsake me" Jesus took on the past, present, future, sins of the world, dieing on a cross, for you. But you know, loving God is not a feeling. If it was, when we had a bad day, we wouldn't love Him and we would feel He didn't love us. Think of it this way, love is not just a feeling. I love my children all the time, not just when I feel good. I love them when I am sick, when they are bad, when they are at school and when they are asleep. I love them all the time. It is not a conditional thing or a "feeling".

People always say, I just "feel" the Holy Spirit in that church, or when I'm speaking in tongues. What about the days you don't "feel" the Holy Spirit, is He gone?

I know I went off a little bit, but the thing I wanted to say is that, It doesn't matter the way it affects you, the fact of the matter is that you believe that He died for you on the cross, and you know that He loves you and wants you to be one of His people and that you will be with Him for all eternity in heaven. Read 123 John. It won't take you very long.

Our souls live forever, whether they are in heaven or hell is our choice.

God Bless

If you are a Christian, I suggest listening to "The 4th Cup" by Scott Hahn. You probably come to a deeper appreciation of the "crucifixion story," but be warned: you may find you have many questions to answer. The upside is that the answers are out there.

If you are not a Christian, I suggest the same. You will likely find the historical context of the story richer than you thought before.

OK Great. Take a few days and write down everything you have done that you know is wrong.

Now you are going to need to drop by the hardware store and get some really large nails and one beam 10' X 8" X 8" and one 4' X 8" X 8" And a Hedge clipper or other large spear like instrament. Now you need to call up a few friends and a lot of people who used to harrass you in school or bully you in the neghborhood.

Once you get this far ask another question and I'll fill you in on whats next ok?

GOD bless ya.
Im just here to help.

I am assuming that you are saying that you have been told the story of Jesus' crucifixion time and time again, and you felt the conviction of God's Holy Spirit telling you that it was the truth; but you ignored the conviction completely. And now you realize that it most certainly was true, but you feel as though you cannot get in contact with God by prayer. Many times we ignore God and his attempts to speak to us, and after we do such for so long a time, our heart becomes hardened. I hope and I pray that this is not the case with you, even though it sounds very likely. God is most certainly a most-merciful God; and will forgive us for whatever sin we may of committed. But we must be sincere when we ask Him to do so. My advise to you is to get on your knees before God, and ask for his forgiveness; for the times that you have ignored the voice of his Holy Spirit; and please allow your heart to become sensitive to his voice once again. But this is not a game that you are playing. God knows when we are sincere, and when we are not. May God's mercy and grace fall upon you.

The choice u r asking us to help u with is all too personal. We might be able to persuade u one way or the other but the choice is ultimately urs to make. Instead of focusing on the Lord's Crucifixion so much focus on his resurrection and what that means to u. I mean everybody dies but how many can say I've defeated death without being resurrected by anyone else? Hmmmm?????

What "effect" do you believe that it should have on you?

Do you think that you should cry, or begin to pray, or feel guilty about having Jesus take the sin of the world away?

I would recommend spending less worry on "how" it affects you to more time learning about it and sharing with others, perhaps in a small Bible sharing group, or studying the writeups in different versions of the Bible, or learning about the original Latin and Hebrew word translations to gain a deeper understanding of the Word.

God's Saviour, Jesus Christ took your place on that cross the day the Kenites put Him to death.

Your place. That doesn't give you just a little emotion. Jesus Christ's flesh was torn from His Body so you could be healed. Healed from what you say. He healed your eyes so blindness would not stand in your way to see. He Healed your deafness so you can hear the Word of God. And you don't have any feeling about.

What Jesus did for you and all of us should bring you to your knees in thanksgiving.><>

when God is truly in your heart and you have a relationship with Him, then it has effected you the way that it should. Just because you are a christian doesnt mean that everytime you hear the story you should get emotional and break down and cry or something... you know what it means to you in your heart, so thats all the matters!!!

If the fact, that the creator, the King of all kings came to earth and was beat until his guts hung out of his body, and was then murder in cold blood for you. And you say that doesn't effect you! May I ask how much sin is in your life? Obey Acts 2:38
