I don't know whether I would call it a mental institute or not but you could possibly be hospitalized for a mental evaluation and counseling.
The desire to wear diapers all the time is not as unusual as most people think. It is usually something that males like moreso than females. It is an escape activity. It takes them back to a time mentally where they didn't have a care or responsibility in the world. They can relax and not worry about anything, even going to the bathroom.
Is this a mental problem? Maybe, if it is what controls and runs your life and it becomes such that everything you do revolves around wearing diapers.

Do you mean that you want to wear diaper like a baby? If thats so, then you may just need to reconsider somethings, but I don't think you will be sent to a mental institution for that. They save places in mental institutions for mentally unstable people.
p.s. They actually do make diapers for older kids.

I am not really sure, but I would say that if a 14 year old wanted to wear diapers that it is possible that that person may have other issues as well.

I dont think for wearing diapers alone you could be institutionalized. I mean if thats the only issue?...Id say no. It could be a fetsh or a result of other psychological issues but it doesnt mean the person needs to be in an instiitution.

Have your parents take you to a psychologist, not a psychiatrist-they will make you feel crazy and take all your parents money. You have a problem which can probably be greatly helped by telling a good therapist what is really bothering you. You're not crazy, you just have some issues that need addressing, your problem won't go away over night, so be patient. I hope you feel better soon.

no i doubt it severely,,,,by the way, im in diapers 24/7 and have been since 5 years old for medical reasons,,,that being said, ive met some people online that like diapers,,,,,,I honestly don't think they can send you to a mental institution,,,,they may take you to a therapist, but thats different.....take care, and I hope it works out for you.

Oh no no. Situations like that are always approached with therapy and possibly medication first. Hospitalization happens when the patient is a danger to herself or someone else and can;t function in society.

question for yourself to think about: Do you WANT to wear diapers or is it that you NEED to wear diapers. Either way you should speak to someone for help

Uh...not sure if it would warrant sending someone to a 'mental insitute', but maybe sent to talk to someone? I would think that they would only put someone in one of those places if they were in danger of hurting themselves/others, but then again, I am not an expert.

I doubt that you will be sent to an instuitution. Sounds like a fettish. If I were you, I would seek out a counselor to talk to. It is not normal!
