i used to do bad in skool last year. but since this is my junior year and it's the most important year i'm trying harder now and now i'm getting A's and B's. but my teachers embarass me in class by talking about how smart I am and on and on. it's annoying me and makes it seem as if everyone else in the class is dumb or something. what do i do?

I wouldn't be embarrassed, but proud! They're trying to encourage you by praising you. Despite what some people think, it's not cool to be dumb. So, be proud of your achievements!!

after class tell your teachers you are ever so grateful for the recgonition but peer pressure is a real pain and you don't want to be referred to as the teachers pet. and at times you feel a little singled out from the others and they deserve credit for trying just like you have done since last year. Sounds like a grown-up matter but I'm sure they will understand and respect your coming to them in such a professional manner, will also help with your communications skills should you have a job of authority, will show you how to talk to your working peers.

Just ignore it. The school year has just begun and they'll soon get tired of telling everyone how smart you are. They're probably amazed at the change between last year and this year and want to encourage you to keep up your good work.

I wouldn't worry about it, but if it's really bothering you then I would confront the teacher after class and ask them to stop.

It's just that they are so proud of you! If it really embarrasses you that much, just tell them before class sometime. I am certain they would not want to jeopardize your new 'improved' study habits. You should be proud of yourself as well! Well done!

They are using psychology on you by encouraging your new behavior with compliments.

Either tell them before or after class that you know they mean well, but they are embarassing you so would they please stop?

Tell them to take a good look at your spelling. That will end all that talk about how smart you are.
