i think that its nice, but you should break up with him, if you dont really like him, all you're doing is leading him on. you gave him a chance, so, i think you should move on.

For future reference: don't let your friends force you into things, sometimes they're right, sometimes they're wrong.
FOR THIS TIME: Maybe your friends realize something about him that you don't. You can't go back on your word, so just give him a chance. Try and have a good time with him. If he totally bores you, half way through the dance just ask him (politely!) if you two could each go hang out with your own friends for the rest of the dance. Be truthful with him, don't lead him on. Make sure he's clear from the get-go that you don't want to date him, and that you two are going as FRIENDS and nothing else.
Good Luck and Have a Great time at Homecoming!

Just come straight out and tell him, y go to homecoming with him if u dont like him? its a big thing. And its better if you let him off early cause he may think its going far and you dont, And everday you leave it the way it is will just hurt him more in the end.

First you need to go down to Wal-mart and buy a spine so you can stand up to your so-called friends.
Then you need to tell lover boy you're going to Homecoming ( a date is a date) but that you really don't feel anything for him, so it's only "as friends".
Guys hate that, but oh well, it's your fault for not having a spine in the first place. Suck it up and deal.

Enforce the whole "We're going as FRIENDS" deal and make sure he knows not to expect a relationship in exchange for a homecoming mum.

one of my friends has that same problem.
He might be hurt, but I think you should tell him the truth: u just dont like him that way. you'll prolly feel bad bout it, but if u dont tell him the truth, ur gonna feel a lot worse later.
goin to homecoming with him might be a bad idea b/c if u go w/ him, he will think that u like him.
ur friends also shouldnt "force" u to go with someone u dont like. thats ur choice.
basically, just tell him the truth. otherwise, u just end up making urself feel bad about everything.

You should go to the dance with him which u probably shouln't of told him u would do . But just don't act like u like like him just act like his freind and then say u just want to be freinds after that. Unless, he's really nerdy then just say u had fun but it probablly won't work out.

Your friends forced you to go with someone you dont want to be with? hmmm...not much of a friendship if they dont respect your feelings. It doesnt matter if guy is cool, dork, butthead or whatever, if you dont like him, dont go with him. Your real friends will understand.

Be honest and tell him the truth - think of it as it would happen to you - no one likes to be dragged on - know what I mean - it might hurt his feeling for a while but he will get over it - BELIEVE ME.
